On Wednesday, the first day of the conference there were about 40 church leaders in attendance for Pastor Rusty’s talk. Thursday saw that number drop due to a funeral that many had to attend. But we know that the people are listening, and  responding to the messages.  More details will be following.

The ceiling board is being installed. Randy is running between the ceiling board and installing the interior doors but things are getting done.

A huge pile of chairs came today on a Tuktuk

44 new mattresses arrived today. The new beds are all done. They’re painting the last ones.

Someone challenged me in yesterday’s post regarding little TisTis why I didn’t ask about other people who might want to support children like her.

The truth is that every child has a story. All of them are sad, full of hardship or tragedy. When you think of one day in a mud house for a 2 1/2 yr old baby , let alone 8 days, that’s really hard to imagine.  But desperate people do things that we would normally never think of doing. What is happening at Bethel Rays of Hope is showing these children in our care that they are loved and that they have a Heavenly Father who loves them as well.

As they receive education, they will learn how to earn a living for themselves, thus helping to end the deep poverty level that they have come from. As the kids are out performing dancing to different events and church services, they love the exposure and the fun of performing. What they receive, is more than just the food and education, they are gaining self-worth and a sense of dignity.

So for those of you who would like to support a child (and we have 8 that yet need to have sponsors) the cost is $50.00/mth.  If you want to help support a family who is struggling to pay for their own children’s education cost to attend school, then the cost is $12.25/mth.   That also covers the cost of breakfast and lunch for these children because mostly they come to school without having eaten or anything to eat for lunch.

If you are interested or know of someone who might be, please let them email  treasurer@bethelraysofhope.com and I will get back to you with further information.

Joan
