Grade   7

Parent  Teacher Meeting

This past Wednesday they held a parent/teachers meeting for the students soon to be leaving Grade 7 and moving into Grade 8 in January. In Kenya the Grade 8 year is a very  important year with a final exam that sets in place the future of the children in so many ways.

Parents were asked to try to provide textbooks for their child. (This is part of a parent’s’ responsibility.) Class teachers gave a short introduction to the challenges that will be faced in this class and asked that parents and children commit themselves to working along with the teachers on a good performance.

Pray for these families and children because, as Mrs. Chamah says, “Pray for us as we serve in a harsh community that doesn’t value education.”  Yet we all know that to gain an education is to help them experience success in their individual future.
